With Bated Breath

Today has brought back memories of Christmas eves past.  The excitement that wells up and makes your heart beat really fast, every time you remember what is to come.  Anticipation is one of those funny feelings that can either insight terror or unbearable, uncontrollable internal giggling.  Anticipation at the bottom of the Space Needle when you don’t care for the elevator is the former and I am currently experiencing the latter.  I am waiting with bated breath for….

 This Lady:                                                                                                                                                                And This Guy:

And these people are… bum ba da bummmm…  MY PARENTS!!!   YAY and lots of Clapping!
It has been almost 9 months since I have seen these two yahoos.  Missing Thanksgiving and Christmas with them and many other loved ones was a bit tearful but we certainly made the best of it.  Just one of those things that comes with living on the other side of the country from your family.
I can’t wait for them to arrive tomorrow evening so I can show them where I live and what I do.  This will be their first visit to Seattle and hopefully not their last.
When they planned their trip here in the beginning of January, after a St. Thomas hurricane encounter in September, they joked about it being another “Picard” vacation.  We seem to bring the bad weather wherever we go.  At the time I assured them that it would not be a problem because it was “sunny and 50+ degrees here”.  Which it was, until about 2 days ago.  Now I keep apologizing and telling them to bring warm clothes.
Never the less, we will have a wonderful time and the anticipation continues to keep me on the edge of my seat.  I probably will have trouble sleeping tonite with my figurative “Santa” arriving tomorrow.
I can’t wait to see you both!  🙂  Good Night and Travel Safe!
