Student: Hey, did you see that big airplane?
Me: No, Did you?
Me: Was it a C-17?
Student: No, it was a 747. It carries passengers. It’s a double-decker.
Me: Oh, Wow!
I was totally taken aback by this comment. Hubbs works on C-17’s for his reserve duty so I knew they were big planes. Not only did this student (who is almost 5) know that C-17’s were cargo planes, but he also knew exactly which other planes were big and their purpose. Wow.
This same student once told me he wanted to move to Norway to build cruise ships. Because that is obviously where they build cruise ships. Also, in the event that you end up on his cruise ship some day, the café will be on the tenth deck. 🙂
