Prolonged Visit Due to Natural Disasters

On August 23rd, 2011, hours after my Grandparents got on a plane and took off from Albany, NY, the east coast felt a 5.8 magnitude earthquake.  The epicenter was in Virginia but the quake was felt from Georgia to Canada.

On  August 28th, 2011, hurricane Irene hits Albany, NY and my grandparents have won themselves 5 more days in Seattle.

On September 4th, 2011, a tornado crosses the NYS Thruway near Albany, NY.

In the course of 2 weeks, my hometown survived an earthquake, a hurricane and a tornado.  Luckily for my grandparents, they avoided the whole business by visiting me!  They stayed a couple extra days and did some sight-seeing.  I felt badly they couldn’t get home, but glad we had a bit more time together.

Coming up is the rest of their visit…
